Introductions
Department 56 announces new village introductions twice each year. The main introduction is announced in December, with those pieces becoming available in stores by the following summer. A smaller, mid-year introduction is announced in May, with those items becoming available for purchase by the holiday season.

Each year retirement for villages is announced the first Friday in November and on December 26 the molds are broken!
