Mid-Atlantic Village Gathering

Portsmouth, Virginia April 12-15, 2007

The picturesque seaport city of Portsmouth, Virginia was the setting for the 8th and final Mid-Atlantic Village Gathering (MAVG). The organizing committee, which included club members from the Annapolis Villagers and Department 56 Villagers of Southeastern Virginia, provided a fun-filled event that began Thursday with a harbor cruise aboard the tall ship American Rover and ended Sunday afternoon with a bus tour of historic Portsmouth and the Norfolk Naval Base.

The weekend offered non-stop fun that included many familiar activities such as Seminars, Make & Take, Round Robin, Room Hop, Display Contest, a Marketplace, Toyland (carnival games), and the Dinner and Breakfast Banquets.

One of the many highlights of the weekend was the display contest entries. I overheard many collectors say that they had never seen such creative displays.
